Brilliance at Bedford, Brentwood and Bramley Road

3 years ago By Sam Ward

U7s impressive and unbeaten in first competitive games.

Two U7s events this week saw the squad split, whilst running the usual training session at Bramley Road.

Thanks to all the U6s parents that step forward to support with the training when requested. The extra attention that the players get as a result really makes a difference to their development.

All three of the travelling teams were unbeaten and, more importantly, their exemplary behaviour, effort and teamwork was very impressive.

The team that represented Saracens at the U7s tournament at Bedford showed how far they've developed.

The team were undefeated and were the joint winners of their group, only missing out on topping the group by one try on count back.

As a result they qualified for the plate final and despite going 5 - 1 down, they kept their heads up and came back to win by a try!
The final account was: played 4, won 3 drew 1, and a great demonstration that medal winners keep trying their best until the final whistle.

Our other two teams, that supported Brentwood's triangular mini-tournament, with Westcliffe, were similarly unbeatable.

For more than half the players this was the first competitive game and they looked like naturals, with some great runs, support play and defensive awareness that made them unstoppable.

Well done to all the players.
