"The bottom line is, why does anybody play rugby? What makes a junior club XV player drag himself down to training on a dark, wet night in December after a long day at the office? What makes him put up with the knocks and injuries?
It's because playing rugby with your mates is just a great game; it's the beers and a bit of fun on a Saturday with your friends after achieving something good together on the pitch. That's absolutely no different in the world of professional rugby"
Brendan Venter, Director of Rugby, Saracens September 2009
