Dramatic finishes for the Saracens and Crusaders

Two evenly fought contests decided in the last minute ended with a double win Saturday for the Saracens and Crusaders.

Newly promoted Saracens went into their third game of the season against UCS Old Boys following two defeats. UCS had started their season by scoring 82 points against Hillingdon Abbots. A hard fought encounter saw the lead changing several times with UCS opening the scoring and Saracens taking the lead 8 -7 with a try and a penalty. UCS took the lead again with another converted try 8 - 14. Two Michael Scrace penalties saw the game enter the last minute tied 14 - 14. Another penalty to Saracens!! Could Scracie keep his cool? The ever dependable Michael Scrace slotted home his fourth penalty of the day. The whistle blew for time. A magnificent win for Saracens and commiserations to UCS Old Boys.
Over on the back pitch Crusaders were taking on Old Albanian 4th's. Another evenly thought contest where both teams dominated in periods. Crusaders started the better and had built up a 17 - 5 half time lead. OA's came back at Crusaders and took the lead going into the last five minutes 27 - 31. After some considerable time defending, Crusaders finally got possession to get the ball back in OA's half which led to the forwards pushing over in the corner for Connor O'Halleran to score the winning try which Michael Gregario converted from out wide next to the touchline. Well done lads. The win puts Crusaders in second place, equal on points with Finsbury Park but behind on points difference.
