Coaches & Coaching Development

Coaching that is effective and of the highest quality undoubtedly has the most significant influence in developing and retaining players, and will enable those players to achieve their full potential in rugby football.

Saracens Amateur RFC (“SARFC” “the Club”), in partnership with its coaches, players and other stakeholders, intends to generate and maintain an environment where both coaching and player development can flourish to the full. In addition,

"Coaching children requires a different approach to coaching adults and it is important to remember that it involves much more than just teaching them how to win games. It must be a safe, fun and comprehensive initiation to the sport, giving kids a chance to catch the rugby bug and become the players of the future" (RFU, October 2011)

The purpose of the SARFC Coaching Policy is to provide a working framework for the management and delivery of coaching of rugby football throughout the Club.

A similar approach is taken to Referee Development.

To this end SARFC has developed a Coaching Policy and Role Descriptions for the key persons charged with developing the overall coaching framework, skills and competencies at the Club.
